Who we are. Founded in 2010 by two sustainability students at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, the Green Degree Directory℠ aims to:
- enhance school visibility to those offering green higher education programs,
- empower student search ability through a comprehensive online platform
- support viability to green K-12 education
All programs found in the directory have been hand-picked by our research team (us) or submitted by students and faculty – no robots or crawlers are used!
What is Green Education? – The Green Degree Directory℠ nets an expanded spectrum of values and criteria for determining green educational value and defines it as “an acute awareness of our interdependence on natural, social and economic systems.”
Our Community is a diverse group of green-minded people, from motivated green high school students to non-traditional and mid-career leaders to faculty change agents, aka facuneurs, each dedicated to understanding and improving the social and environmental impact of education to the world around us.
